This blog runs a few plugins that encourage people to add to the conversation of each blog post. It does this by passing a do follow link to the blog of the person making the comment.

So anyone that makes a fair comment will get some link love. If you do this, you are no doubt aware that it will improve your natural search engine ranking which might contribute to more visibility and traffic. It may also generate a genuine click through from somebody reading your interesting comment.

However, predictable and banal comments like “good site” or such like don’t really add to the post and are unlikely to get clicked on. Furthermore, if they are like this I will probably not accept them anyhow.

If you can keep on the topic of the original post and add some new insight or point of view then the comment will certainly be accepted. If you have a personal insight on a product then let it be heard. Thanks.
