The Ear Force X41 is made by Turtle Beach. It is basically a digital version of their X4 headset. Both the X41 and X4 are made to be used for game playing with an  Xbox but they can also be used to watch TV or a movie through the home theater. You can also listen to music on your music system too. The general consensus is that these are good wireless headsets and an improvement on the original X4 in most ways.

The primary use of these headphones/headset are for playing games on your Xbox and chatting to other game players through the Xbox live chart facility. The sound reproduction is awesome. Good deep bass. Sharp and crisp highs.

The headsets use Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound. It not true surround sound but virtual surround sound as there are only two speakers. Even so the system does seem to give you that sense that the movement is in front or to the side or even behind you. This should improve game play and even make you a better player possibly.

The system is completely wireless. The headset is completely independent from the transmitter so you won;t get tangled up in wires if your game play gets really active.

The X41 uses digital radio frequency (RF 2.4 Ghz) transmission technology. This ensures less interference, no dropping out or losing connection (reports suggest the headphones work up to 20 feet away from the transmitter and even through walls – not sure why you would need to use them through walls unless you have x-ray vision like superman).

The headset itself is said to be lightweight and comfortable. This is essential if you spend an extended period of time playing games. The ear cups use a synthetic mesh fabric so that the ears do not sweat and become uncomfortable.

The transmitter does not require a separate power source to work. Simply plug it into the Xbox via a supplied USB cable. The headset itself takes 2 standard AA batteries that fit into the right ear cup. Controls to adjust the volume can be found on the base unit and on the ear cups themselves. So this is a headset with volume control.

The microphone is fully adjustable and can even be detached if you just want to play the game or are using them to watch a movie of listen to music. When talking to others during gameplay there is a function known as chat boost that boosts the sound of the chatting over the various game noises (explosions and the like).
